My Best Friend’s Wedding (minus Julia Roberts)

We made it through the standardized testing week! Back to the grind again with homeschool. I counted up our days and we only have 26 more to fulfill our reccomnded 180, Whoop Whoop! Countdown is on for Summer!

In February of this year, I left the boys at home to go on a quick road trip. My oldest friend got married! We’re actually the same age, I mean she is the friend I’ve had the longest amount of time, lol.

“The” dress.

We met when we were both 5 years old when I moved to her neighborhood. We were instant friends and friends ever since.

Pre Wedding Glam sesh.

We went through all the years together. Took vacations together, took classes together, was in Girl Scouts together. Went camping and had sleepovers and parties and skipped school. All of it, we did together.

This is her first marriage and I’m so happy everything is coming together for her now.

Her husband is a stand up guy and I totally approve.

First dance

They just bought their first house together and it is amazing! The inside is huge and gorgeous and the outside has the most beautiful lush lawn. She told me they started a garden this Spring too.

Oldies but goodies!

Here we are 36 years later, still going strong.

She’s the sweetest for making sure there would be plantbased food for me to eat on her big day. The eggplant parmesean was amazing. The mushroom risotto was even better, she and I have shared a love of mushrooms since day one. We never had a problem ordering pizza together, lol.

And the drinks, If I had a dollar for every drink she and I have had together….. Actually I think I had my first drink with her too, lol. Sneaking into her parents liquor on sleepover nights.

I stole the bride’s stole.

Getting rowdy!

Aaaaand we’re loaded.
We cannot act right for a pic if our lives depended on it.

Weddings… Love em? Or Hate em?

I hated weddings up until this point because all the weddings I had been to were lame and boring. This wedding was SUPER fun, best one I have ever been to! I loved feeling totally comfortable, I knew every single person there on the brides side. Drinking and dancing and dressing up with all my friends to celebrate my oldest friend was just the best time!

      1. Ah – being the plus one where you don’t know anyone would be tough. Luckily for me, that has never been the case. Even when I’ve attended weddings solo and only known one of the parties marrying, I still had a great time getting down on the dance floor!

  1. Fun pics! So glad you were able to share her happy day….
And yes, I’ve been to a lot of horrible weddings as well. Stiff formal affairs, or themed celebrations gone wrong. They should be joyful… nice to know this one was.
